small moments
... these are the forces
which make up the power within the day
that sustain and keep us from the darkness in our lives...
yesterday as l walked away,
l had been draping the washing to dry
at the bathroom window
full of warm breezes,
l heard a tune
a light melodious picking
following me up through the hallway
l slowly stopped, carefully turned and retraced my steps
lest it stopped entirely...
lest it stopped entirely...
out of the window l watched
amid the tangle of fabric hung about ....
I was enchanted and l saw a man
can you?
How fab! It seems to encapsulate a wonderful Summer moment, that you will proably remember for a long time. Lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteFab indeed! I hope everyone enjoyed the music - some might have been annoyed, but you put a positive spin to it.
ReplyDeletePure poetry, darling Saz! I am with you through your words...and the sound of the strings carries in the breeze...and I am transported. May the music buoy and carry your soul, dearest! You heart deserves to be light...I hope it is lifted...
ReplyDeleteSending you much love, Janine XO
What a special treat for your ears! I think we all have to be open to the "little things" we come upon when living life.
ReplyDeleteI miss the smell of line-dried sheets. There is not a fabric softener in the world that can duplicate it!
Thanks for sharing!
A mermaid, drawing you out and about, away from chores and routines, to lull your day away.
ReplyDeleteunexpected acoustic music on a hot summers day is a wonderful find. Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteA modern day troubadour - how nice to have one of your very own to serenade you! My oldest son plays the guitar and is constantly strumming away - now that he is deployed to Germany with the AF Reserves for four months, I really miss the sounds from his bedroom upstairs.
ReplyDeleteAt 65, I've done it! My poetry book - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy - is out on Amazon!
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

nice!
ReplyDeleteI'd have a hard time not spending the rest of my day there or falling in love or bringing him something to drink or writing poetry to him or or or
Oh Saz, it is summer where you are. And then I hit myself in the head and think, of course it is you twit. It is summer where you are, Saz. I say it and I get it. Your windows are open. I hope you walk light.

what a wonderful discovery. how great that he sat where you could see and hear him.
ReplyDeleteyour words and the pictures and the story - pure magic!
ReplyDeletewe moved a couple of years ago to where we live now. it was after a very tough time - i had been off work with stress/ a breakdown, my husband was in end stage renal failure and had not yet had the transplant, and our finances were in meltdown (which was why we had to move). we were determined to make a good thing of our new home even though it had been forced on us. the day we moved in we sat in the garden and the sound of fantastic blues guitar wafted over the wall from next door. we felt as though it was specially for us, to say that we were among good people.
these moments are pure magic.
Bless! He looks interesting, I agree.
ReplyDeleteI simply love moments like that......x
ReplyDeleteIt could be the opening page of your novel, Saz. He does look interesting.
ReplyDeleteThrough your words and pictures you shared the treat of the moment with us - I could almost hear it. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful treat! I enlarged the first photo to have a better look and saw his green shirt-- Then I saw your second photo and knew he was a true artist based on the socks and plaid shorts and hat.
ReplyDeleteI hope he hangs out there a lot this summer for you to enjoy.

Ooooh. Was he serenading you? What light from yonder window breaks?
ReplyDeleteWhat was he playing .. I am hoping his ears are better than his eyes ...
ReplyDeleteIsn't it swell when you think you might see something interesting in the distance? Then you look harder, or take a photo, and it is? Thanks for sharing your moment, Saz!
