Pippa

Our lovely dog Pippa passed away yesterday.
She had been uncomfortable for a week or so
and our trips to the vet this week,
led us to decide what was best for her. Not us.
She gave us so much. She was so loving and amenable to the end.
She is now with Barney her best friend, in a better place.
Together. Forever.
I am so sorry Saz. A small part, but an important part, of your family has left you. I am glad you made the decision to not let her suffer, however hard it was for you all.
ReplyDeleteIt occurred to me today that my beautiful girls are already 10 and 11 and their days are numbered too. I sat in the sun with them and cried, just thinking about life without them both.
Thoughts are with you... she was very beautiful.

Oh I'm so sorry. Thinking of you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. Having had dogs all my life, and having been through this loss many times...it never gets any easier does it?
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs to you (())
I am so sorry to read this. Those without dogs cannot understand how much a dog is part of the family. When they go, it is like losing an arm. Sending cyber hugs!
ReplyDeleteSorry does not begin to cover what I feel for you, and des not begin to assuage your feeling of loss and pain.
ReplyDeleteFor so many of us, our pets are our children; beloved and loyal, they ask for nothing more than food, water, and our love and attention. It is obvious that Pippa was part of your family, part of you, and loved as only a family member could be loved.
Memories are sweet; hold dear to them, for they are all our pets leave behind.
I know how you feel darling, they give us soooo much and ask little in return...

Oh the dreaded end of a much loved pet. I had my cat eithanised four weeks ago - it is the best gift you can give a suffering pet. Sad, sad, sad,
ReplyDeleteawww so sorry. we're just about in your shoes.. so i completely understand. great pics btw.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear that
ReplyDeleteI am SO sorry! A dog is like a child that you love just as much if not in a different way. May happy memories of her life with you give you some peace.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. How sad for you all.
ReplyDeleteLook at Pippa's beautiful coat! What a lucky dog to have such obviously caring and loving humans.
ReplyDeleteThe best place that Pippa and Barney could ever be, is in your hearts, where they have always been, and will ever stay.
I send you warm thoughts and every bit of my empathy, across the miles.

Hello! I hope you remember all the bouncy times and the walks and fetching of sticks and mad chases around the house and joyful barks, larks and parks with your doggy!
ReplyDeleteSympathies from both the Bristol bloggers you have met....
So sorry to hear about Pippa.

Oh, I'm so sorry. It's very painful, isn't it? Been there, done that ... I won't say too many times, because I loved the time we had with each and every one of our beloved dogs. Can't wish that away, can we?
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry! That is always so much harder than I think it will be. Take care :)
ReplyDeletePippa was one gorgeous dog. Sorry, Saz, these things are never easy. Much love to you.
ReplyDeleteTake care this week. I'm on the road for a bit.

She looks beautiful and noble in the photo, and I'm sure that's how you will remember her.
ReplyDeleteLosing a beloved dog is such a heartbreaker. Our black lab died at 14 a few years ago, and we still miss her. I'm sorry for your pain right now, and I hope the good memories you have of her will help you to heal.
My first visit and on such a sad day, but I am sure that like me you would go back and do it all again knowing that the end is sad.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your happy memories and I will visit again soon!
Oh, dear. How sad, and I'm sorry for your loss. I had never had dogs before we got our two Westies, and now I understand a little what the loss could mean.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely doggie, Pippa.
Do something nice for yourself today. xoxo

Hello, I clicked on the link on Suburbia's blog to your blog.....and I was so sorry to read about Pippa, being a dog lover and dog owner myself.
ReplyDeleteEven though I don't know you, I feel for you. My dog will be 11 next year, and I cannot imagine the pain of losing him.
My blog is a private, family one, but if you want to take a look at my dog any time, he has his own blog.......link below

So very sorry to hear this. Always a great loss when we lose a beloved pet but we always know when it's time.
ReplyDeleteTake care and keep her beautiful memory alive.

My sincerest, deepest condolences. May God bless your friend and may she have endless fields of green to run in.
ReplyDeleteSo hard, it is, when we have to part company with a long-time companion like our pets become to us. They are definitely family members. No two ways about that.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to you in your loss. Painful as it is, you know you did the right thing for her though.
I'm so sorry about your dear Pippa. We lost our special friend, Roco, 4 years ago, and I was heartbroken at the time though he was in a great deal of pain and was ready to go at the age of 12. Today I still think of him often, but they are fond memories of the good times we had and the funny mischief he occasionally got into. I hope with time that your memories of Pippa will help to comfort you, too.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your grief over losing a much loved member of your family.
ReplyDeleteLong may she run......
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry, Saz, its a hard decision to make unselfishly but you did it and I send you lots and lots of hugs .. it was the right thing, .. I know from personal experience ... xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteHugs and a few licks from Pippa. They trust us deeply to do the right thing for them and you did.
ReplyDeleteI've just started reading your blog and I am so sad and sorry to hear about your loss. I am in a similar situation and Bless you for having the courage to take care of Pippa.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so sorry about Pippa - she looks beautiful. Hope you are OK and bearing up

I'm coming across quite a few dogs who have either passed or fading away from my bloglist friends, in just a few weeks. I only recently blogged about my neighbours' dog, Tarot.
ReplyDeleteI will go back over the links with Pippa in them. My condolences to you and the rest of Pippa's family.
I am so sorry. This is the worst part of having a pet, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe times I have been through it. Couldn't face it again.
Oh I'm so sorry about Pippa, its awful when we loose our pets, they are more like friends to me, (and often more comfort than the family!!!!!)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you
So sorry to hear about Pippa. We have a wonderful dog called Ed and he's getting old now. I want to clone him! He's our rescue dog from Egypt...huge hugs - you must be distraught. Hxx
ReplyDeletePS - was over at Tullie House today and saw the Roman cups - in a word:fab!
