ABC Wednesday
S is for SAMYE LING

One Sunday last month
Larry and I took a drive up into the Scottish Borders
where nestled between the Border hills
serenely sits the Buddhist Community
in Eskdalemuir, Nr Langholm,
Dumfriessshire, Scotland
Prayer Flags
Eorupe's oldest Buddhist Centre & Momastery
it is a very peaceful place to visit
you are free to roam around the grounds and Temples
Retreats & Meditiation and Buddhist courses
are held regularly here
What incredible pics of such a beautiful place! Very peaceful looking! Great subject for the S word! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have thought of a Buddhist monestary in Scotland. Looks like a beautiful, peaceful location for a retreat.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a place of peace and beauty! And an original ABC Wednesday contribution. :)
ReplyDeleteA deep thinking s for serene post.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! What a fascinating place it is!!! This post deserves an S--for super!!! ~Janine XO
ReplyDeleteI don't think I ever would have imagined a Buddhist monestary in Scotland, but thanks for sharing your interesting and unique experience with us. :D
ReplyDeleteI think it was only me - I didn't get the serene vib. I just got back from a dessert theatre though and had three cups of coffee. It might just be me. Cool place though.
ReplyDeleteWoman in a Window may have been experiencing alternative vibes, because the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) earthquake monitoring centre is just up the road from the monastery!
ReplyDeleteyou ARE funny anonymous...do I know you!?
ReplyDeleteProbably all those fluttering banners put Erin off. I do rather like the idea of Budhism.
ReplyDeleteWe have a nearby Buddhist Monastery at Chithurst, and going to an evening meditation there was a very interesting experience, but hard on the backbone! Great vibes despite not understanding what was being chanted...
ReplyDeleteLovely different post for the letter S. I like that you included 2 S's. Sami and Scotland.
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDeleteI felt serenity.
