SKY WATCH FRIDAY - A piece of sky

For other participants in Dot’s concept, go to Sky Watch HQ.
'A Roman Cumbrian Sky'
this is a piece of sky
the sky above Hadrians Wall
but ...
are you thinking
that something
is not quite right?
Well you would be right ...
This is a painted sky
which hangs over
the Hadrians wall exhibit
in the Museum where I work!

I'm waiting for an angel to step out at any moment.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I sat on a piece of Hadrian's wall back in '97. I should check out the sky in that photo. Gotta get choosing something for SWF...
ReplyDeleteI thought at first you'd masked off the sky and applied a Photoshop filter to it to get that effect. (Apparently this is quite a good painting!)
ReplyDeleteBut be the sky faux or real, the photo is still smashing!
I'm with Mojo. It really IS beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo!
ReplyDeleteVery clever, I did think it looked a bit weird but I'd never have guessed why :)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful painting. :-) Thanks for confessing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art . . . nature is the best inspiration, for sure!

Clever post. Thanks for sharing! A friend of mine posted a photo recently in another blog along the theme of "fake." Of course the flowers were obviously silk, but what she had done was shoot a reflection of the flowers. I love this painting. It is sooo realistic. Happy Skywatching!
ReplyDeleteAh, that explains the not quite right color, but it's a good way to post a pic without geting your feet wet.
ReplyDeleteVery nice--and very creative.
ReplyDeleteWho needs windows when there is art?!
What an interesting looking sky photo. I do hope you are having a good weekend ...
